I’m just getting started with self-publishing. Learning as I go. Learn with me! The internet was made for sharing. I’m not selling courses or training. I’ll sell books, yes. I’m not crazy. Books are an investment and I’m not rich. I’m just sharing the information I find because it’s the nice/fun thing to do. What I learn, you’ll learn. I’ll be honest, I hate when someone publishes one book, does pretty well, and then makes the rest of their money selling courses. I’m not about that. Information should be free.

If you haven’t guessed, Melanie Brodie isn’t my real name. This is because I want to keep my career writing seperate. I’m not delusional. I don’t believe I’ll make fame and fortune on Amazon, Kindle, or otherwise. I’m doing this for fun. If I make a few bucks, hooray for me. If I don’t, at least I had fun. Think of Melanie as a child company. A brand. I’m a real person with a fake name. What you see here is real, except for the name.

The current plan (as of September 15th, 2019) is to publish a novella in 30 days. Is that insane? I have no idea. I wanted it to be a full length novel, but the story itself dictated the length. It’s done. The novella is currently in the editing stage. It took me about four days to write. I consider this round the learning stage. I have no idea what I’m doing. Only time will tell where this leads me. I hope you’ll join me on the journey through all the tears and cheers. It’s going to be a ball.

Some real facts: I’m currently a student working on my associates in (probably) english. I’m a writer and a copy editor. I have one cat and I live in California with my sweet husband.
